Hi, I’m Kristen, your holistic nutritionist and digestive health specialist.
Outside of that role, I’m a military spouse who follows her Marine to a new location every few years. So far, that’s included Germany and Japan, as well as State-side bases. I always manage to find a handful of piano students, a few planters of herbs, and a local Bible study.
I became a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner when looking for answers for myself. Doctors kept telling me that everything looked normal so the cause of my health challenges was labeled “unknown.”
Unfortunately, dysfunction and subclinical disease is normal. I spent four years and five doctors hoping for answers that I didn’t get until I started working with a functional practitioner outside of the medical system. In the first month, she showed me that I had Hashimoto’s, leaky gut, high inflammation, and a barely-functioning immune system.
This might be your story. Probably, like me, you are the victim of lazy medicine: doctors who don’t ask about your stress levels or diet or sleep, whose hospital systems don’t let them dig for the root cause of symptoms, who have to wait until your imbalance reaches a severe level before they can officially diagnose you.
I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to be a doctor to understand how your body works. Doctors are primarily trained to solve a problem with drugs or surgery. That is not health. Health is a puzzle and the major pieces are within your reach – food choices, restorative movement, sun exposure, good sleep habits, improving stress resilience.
However, years of dysfunction may require a season of deep work with a practitioner who can identify the chronic imbalances going on under your symptoms. If that’s what you’re looking for, we need to talk.
